I didnt quite follow Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition last year but i was definitely a fan of DJ Nicco, and no thanks to my 2 votes, he won. This year's competition is up and running and i've managed to catch it at the Quarter finals. I'll be sure to keep up with it this year because I've seen some talent so far.

Tonight's play off between DJ Khemist and DJ Fire chief- August 3, 2007 on CVM TV
I watched the competition tonight between DJ Khemist and DJ Fire Chief, was hardly a competition. Both DJs were allowed a 5 minute set to show off their skills. Dj Fire Chief did not impress me, to say the least. He did not look very comfortable at the console and made a blunder in the first minute of his playing that he never seemed to recover from. He ignored the mic completely during his five minute set but did manage to get some "forwards" from the crowd. HIs strong point was playing different genres, something DJ Khemist failed to do. This is DJ Firechief's 3rd year in the competition, if he has gotten better over the years; I wasn't able to tell, by listening to him play tonight.
DJ Khemist, seemed quite comfortable, and seemed as though he was actually enjoying his craft. One of his strong points was working the mic, he kept the crowd involved and played a good selection of music. His only downfall tonight in the five minute section was playing only dancehall. The judges, DJs Alrick and Boyd from Fame Fm agreed. He was on point tonight. His composure and charisma, will surely win him some valuable votes for the competition.
In the "tune for tune" segment both DJs actually faired well, but again, fire chief's downfall was his lack of confidence and presence; his experience did not come out in this bout. He did play some good tunes though and got some forwards from the crowd. As Boyd noted, Khemist never really needed much tunes, because he had so much charisma, according to the prominent DJ, that is something that is very important for a good DJ.
Tonight my vote went to Khemist....
